Well, here is one very special and rare guitar.

Matthias Dammann’s guitar are among the most rare guitars on the planet (up there in the likes of Antonio de Torres, Robert Bouchet, and Hermann Hauser I), but not only are they rare, they are modern instruments that are in demand by concert performers around the world.

This one goes a step further. While Matthias Dammann is most well known for his doubletop guitars, his singletop guitars have a very similar character, and certainly a more traditional tone to them that makes them a favorite amongst collectors and players alike. This particular guitar is also 645mm scale, with the vast majority of other Dammann’s being 650mm++, with a 52mm width at the nut.

The sound of this guitar is a dream. It has the sensitivity and clarity that Matthias’ guitars always have, and the depth and darkness in the basses that we think of when we hear one of our all time favorite performers play (David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Pablo Sainz Villegas, Meng Su, and many, many more). On top of that, it retains a traditional Spanish sound that is crisp and responsive , that gives you a percussive clarity when you play with a stronger touch, rasgueado, etc.

While this guitar is not currently for sale, I wanted to introduce you to it anyways. I hope you enjoy the video.
