Please see video demo and review of this guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4gPeWdyxQE&t=4s
Carsten Kobs is one of the top doubletop builders in the world, and his instruments have been purchased recently by none other than David Russell, Aniello Desiderio, Manuel Barrueco, Zoran Dukić Hubert Käppel, Ema Kapor and many more.
I’m happy to say that Carsten Kobs will be building instruments each year for the Guitar Collection, so if you aren’t able to purchase this one, please write to us about reserving the next one.
It’s not necessarily the famous names that make these valuable, but the other way around. Carsten’s instruments are exceptionally loud, sensitive and colorful guitars. You get the feeling that every tiny movement of your finger changes the way the guitar sounds.
When playing his guitars, you get the feeling that its not just one of the best tools you can use, but also an expressive vehicle for music. The clarity that this guitar possess, plus it’s impressive sustain will bring you the pure sound that you love when you hear from your favorite artists, many of which who play his guitars.
Carsten has a very long waitlist (7+ years at this point) , and his instruments are in demand all over the world.
This exact guitar also was featured in a video by Siccas guitars where it was compared against a few other doubletop guitars, and also in a blindtest (including guitars by Matthias Dammann, the most sought after doubletop guitar in the world). I encourage you to listen carefully with high quality headphones or speakers, and see what you favor. Many prefered this guitar, and you can see that from the comments as well. See that video here. This guitar is in near-prestine condition. I’m careful when I say this - there are only some slight string marks under the bridge (no, no string-dings, just light touches from the strings that you would never notice). The headstock has a slight impression when leaned in the right light where a clip on tuner scuffed the french polish, just by a little.
Specs:
Spruce Doubletop.
Indian Rosewood back and sides
Scheller tuners
650 scale (standard)
Standard case included, upgraded case available.
